I'm In Are You In?

The Farm Chicks Show is just a couple weeks away. I'm so dang excited I can't hardly sleep at night (Well that and my physical therapist Sandy roughs me up 2 twice a week), I'm like a kid who found out they are going to Disneyland.

Kim over at Camp Whimsy along with her friends Laurie and Debbie had this STINKIN BRILLIANT idea about making blog badges to wear to Farm Chicks so we could identify each other. What a great way to meet your fellow bloggers!

We read, we comment, we chat, we e-mail each other through the wonders of blogging......this would be the perfect time to meet in person if you're going to the show.

I'm in!

WSU Laura and I got together and made our blog badges.

As you all know I'm not so crafty. I have never been good friends with my glue gun. This last Monday.........I was going to get creative and make my own blog badge.

Yeah for real!

I started out with what I had laying around the house. US Postal Priority mail cardboard envelope to start with. Then some of my linens and ribbon I like to hoard.

It's an illness

Drew out some circles, cut them out and started gluing stuff on.

This took A LOT of Diet Coke and naughty words to create!

WSU Laura had a clear plan unlike myself. She knew exactly how she was going to create her blog badge and what it was going to look like when she was done.
Finally.............she was done!

Look how cute that turned out.

Laura's is all cute and dainty.
Mine not so much!
It just kept getting bigger not better.
I'll be the one with the big ass blog badge that covers half my chest.

Mine needed something else but I wasn't sure what.
Maybe my name and my blog name?????

DUM DA-DA DUM!!!.....................Here it is folks!

A Girl Named Timi Blog Badge
If you haven't got your blog badge ready for the show
GET ON IT!!!
This is going to be so much fun!
Once you get over being blinded by my big ass blog badge and all the bling on it, please say "hello"!
Disclaimer.....not responsible for any blindness one might incur while looking at said big ass blog badge.

The other thing that Laura and I feel is a "must-have" while attending Farm Chicks is a freakin cute-ass apron. We have been talking about learning to sew and making aprons to wear to the show for a year now.
Up until a month ago it was just talk.
I finally got off my Princess Lazy Ass butt and started trying to learn to sew.
My first project was to make an apron for Laura.
Something a little WSU-ie
I really like how it turned out

LOVIN IT!

Not the best sewing job in the world but it's cute.

Isn't that what really counts?

Soooooooooo then I decided that I would make one for a give away I have been planning. Yeah you heard right A GIVE A WAY!

I did a major screw up on this one when I was finishing it.

I'm too lazy to tear the pocket off and redo it soooooooooo

it's back to the drawing board for that apron.

It did turn out cute. I'm probably just going to keep it or............should I give it away? You tell me. What do you think?

I made this apron out of two vintage curtain panels I had.

It turned out cute.
I sewed the fabric on the pocket flap on the wrong side. My hem stitch shows.

So that's what has been going on at The House of B's this last week.

This is what is going on this weekend......

26 miles of garage sales in Long Beach Washington!
I'm there!
I'm on it!
I'll blog about it!

It Was A Junk-O-Rama!!

Sometimes I can't believe I'm living my life!
The Hubs and I always have fun, but sometimes he just can't take any more fun and sends me off by myself. Reluctant to leave him out of the loop, I sometimes just have to give in and leave him at home.

Thursday.....
On a ride home from doing some evening errands...

Me: I really want to go to garage sales tomorrow.

The Hubs: Where's Donna?

Me: She has a friend visiting from Las Vegas this weekend.

The Hubs: What about Laura?

Me: She's sick.

The Hubs: I will pay you to find someone else to go with you!

Me: Really?

The Hubs: Yes, I'll give you whatever amount you want to please find someone else. Do you have gas in your car?

Me: No, I need to get gas in the morning.

The Hubs: I will ALSO fill up your gas tank if you PLEASE find someone else to go with you.

Apparently The Hubs needs a rest from having so much fun with me. Guess I'll find someone else.
I'll call Trish and see if she wants to go.

DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!

This was the first time Trish and I have gone junkin together. We met last spring when she bought some stuff from me off of Craigslist for an upcoming antique show she was doing. She is also Wild Whimsy
While talking we discovered that we read each others blogs. We kept in touch and had always talked about getting together to do a little junkin. Today the planets were aligned just right and it worked out.

We had a great time! We both found some really good junk.

I know!
I totally lost my mind with buying stuff. I had to get a shopping car to bring it all in the house.
Look at that cute thing!
I have no idea what I'm going to use it for but it was cute, metal, sturdy and ..........well I just had to have it.
I have a few things in mind but if you have any suggestions on what I should do with it, please let me know. I would love to hear what you would do with it.

I'm a linens freak. Love love love them.
I got a couple tablecloths on our junkin adventure.
Someday when I die, people are going to go through my stuff and say "what in the hell do you think she was going to do with all these tablecloths, sheets, pillowcases, and curtain panels?" Then they will go in to another room and say "Holly Crap! I didn't know she sewed?" "Why would she have all this fabric?"
It's an illness!
Love these old curtain panels. They are a beautiful apple green with white flocking. I'm going to wash them up and carry them around the house, hold them up, and figure out where I can use them.
Red and white! I love it!
Old tray, lots of star molds and a couple packages of napkins.
I have plans for all of it!

I had a great time with Trish doing some serious junkin.

Saturday...................

An event I have been looking so forward to. I have been wanting Downtown Snohomish to do something like this for years. I'm so happy that Annie coordinated it with Faded Elegance, Joyworks and the city of Snohomish to finally make it happen.
This was a fantastic event! There were lots of great dealers there. Some fantastic items to be found. It was like a The Farm Chicks appetizer.
Now I'm even more excited for The Farm Chicks.Approximately 50 vendors.
It was a beautiful day and I had the best time.
My friend Suzy totally got right with the Lord while we were shopping.
Here's how she did that
Last year I bought a really cute shopping cart from Lisa at A Thing For Roses while at The Farm Chicks. I took this cute little cart with me yesterday (Lisa I had so many compliments on it as well as I could have sold 40 of them.) and Suzy was loving it. She said "I need one of those!" As we were going through some of the booths Suzy found a cute little cart and snatched it.
We were walking and these very cute couple of ladies stopped us and chatted about my cart and where I got it. The whole time one was admiring Suzy's cart that had turquoise wheels on it.
We ended our conversation and parted ways.
Then we saw them again and stopped to chat.
Again the woman admired Suzy's cart with the turquoise wheels and said she hadn't been able to find a cart.
Suzy being the super nice woman she is...................
"Here! You can have my cart, I didn't even notice the color of wheels on it and you did. You should have it."
So the "cart deal" took place right there in the street.
Right there in the streets of Snohomish Suzy got a free ticket to heaven!

I'm so mad at myself for not getting these ladies' names. I know they read blogs so if your reading or you know this woman........contact me!

Suzy got another cart.

Here are some of my finds from the fair.

Today I'm going to paint the tops of those jar lids red.
The Pin Money Bank looks cute with my other ones
and the white milk glass.............I'm not sure yet what to do with it. I just liked it.
It was a great day! I got sunburned (which was stupid, see preivous post from this same time last year), spent time with my good friend Suzy whom I don't get to see very often. Shopped with my mom and my faux aunt Reta who I also don't get to shop with much anymore and ...............
I met so many bloggers!
Ladies it was so fun to meet all of you and your husbands. I have been chatting with some of you through e-mail, commenting on blogs, you comment on mine and it was such a treat to finally get to meet you all.
I'm looking forward to getting together again.
Farm Chicks is going to be a blast meeting all the bloggers. Go to Camp Whimsy and check out her idea on how to meet other bloggers. It's BRILLANT!
I came home all giddy with excitement yesterday after such a good day.
After my weekend Junk-O-Rama and meeting all the bloggers.............
I'm totally inspired make some of my ideas a reality.
Have a great Day!

It's A Thriftorama!

WOW! I have been busy!!! I have discovered so many fantastic finds over the last couple months that it was starting to get out of hand in the garage and extra bedrooms. In addition to this, over the past few weeks my parents have been cleaning too. They decided to remodel their entire house after 35 years. I'm so excited for them but at the same time they have been cleaning and unloading on me and my brother. Unfortunately I didn't get my mothers sentimental genetic make up. I hauled it all home and now need to find it new homes. So between my parents cleaning and my obsessive junking I am buried in stuff! The Hubs wants his garage back and I can't get to the ironing board in the extra bedroom.
Since getting home from Pacific Beach I have been working on liquidating some of my fantastic finds. This week I have been listing stuff on EBay but it hasn't even put a dent in my "need to sell" pile.
Sooooooooooooooo with the hopes of helping me get a little a head of my "need to sell" pile, in this posting I'm sharing with all my bloggin buddies the fantastic finds before they head to the antique dealers, EBay or Craigslist.

From my mothers............

Vintage goose dishes. I have two serving bowls, 1 dinner plate and 8 salad plates. These were in boxes of stuff from my first apartment that I had forgotten all about. I had the whole country thing goin on! It was so dang cute! $30

This is a complete set of Fitz and Floyd Betty Quacker. 15 pieces. Some of the pieces are rare. I had to special order them when I was collecting them back in the 80's. When I was collecting this stuff I was making $3.85 an hour ( part time) at JCPenny and lived in a $125 a month apartment. I couldn't afford to eat or pay my electric bill but DAMN my little kitchen was cute!

Included in the set is a cookie jar, cracker tray, scrubber pad holder, recipe holder, paper towel holder, covered butter dish, covered cheese dish, napkin holder, spoon rest, utensil holder, cookbook ends, and salt and peppers. I also have an extra cookie jar bottom and all the pieces to her broken little head. The book ends and salt and peppers are not in excellent mint condition. One of the bookends and one of the salt and pepper have been glued.
I'm not even sure where to start on the pricing for this. I saw the cookie jar 1 time on eBay and it went for $75. I have never seen any of the other pieces. If your interested or have any information on suggested value PLEASE contact me.

This is still the cutest little kitchen set. I just love it.

Now for some of my recent fantastic finds.......................

Vintage cookie jar. Could be California Pottery but I'm not that familiar with the markings. Excellent condition. Has a tiny tiny little chip in the corner of one of the cookies. This cookie jar is a light beige color. I have seen them several times in white or green but not this light beige.
Markings on the bottom of cookie jar. $35

Super cute! Size 10 Ralph Lauren pink and white polk a dot cotton capri, size 6 Lilly Pulitzer pink and green cotton capris and size 8 Ralph Lauren pink paisley cotton pants. Each $15 or buy all 3 pieces for $40 all 3 of these are in excellent like new condition.

OH MY GOD! This is in excellent condition. Vintage straw handbag, Bakelite handles, top closure, and accents. Not one piece of broken straw, cracked or discolored Bakelite. $40Inside is clean and in great condition. No tags or markings

Vintage Pyrex set. Excellent condition. Very little fading of color, no chips or cracks in any of the pieces including lids to refrigerator dishes. $30 Yellow and shades of green

Retro wall hangings. These are made of a plastic material. They look like they might be vintage Home Interior items. I thought they would be cute painted all one color. $20
They measure 21" long 7" wide

Super cute needle point pictures. $25 for both 8" x 11" from edge to edge of frame.

Victorian figures $25 for both

Small lamp with new pearl smocked shade. $30 Lamp base is 9"tall with shade 15" tall.

This is Franklin and his way of letting me know he's ready for some dinner! Sitting in front of the computer staring is always a good indicator.

This is in MINT condition. Size medium, measures 36" bust, in off white with browns, bronze, copper, and gold beading. There are no holes, snags, missing beads or missing buttons.
$60
Back of sweater
Label on the inside of neck

Size 6 medium Justin women's cowboy boots. In excellent like new condition. There are barley any marks on the soles.
Size 7 1/2 Roper black ostrich boots. These are in excellent condition, little to no wear on the soles. There is one tiny little scuff on the right toe.
Tea and coffee set. It needs to be polished. I haven't gotten that far yet.

This is so fun! I'm sorry my pictures don't do it justice. It's a really pretty olive green with a dark egg plant almost black accents. The only markings on the back are USA 2019

This is just a few of the items. Like I said between my parents and my obsession I'm buried in fantastic finds!
Well I'm off to my parents again today to get more boxes. It will be fun to see what's in my surprise boxes.
This is the first time I have set up paypal as a link on the price. If you have any trouble or questions on items please e-mail me. TimiWeathers@hotmail.com
