Flu and Debates

This has been my life for the last 4 days.

I have been stricken with a nasty flu bug which has left me confined to the couch and bed. At first I thought maybe I had eyebrow cancer or tuberculosis, but I guess it's just the flu. To pass the time between sleeping and feeling like crap I have watched A LOT of TV including the Presidential Debates. Which I thought "perfect! Maybe this will help me make up mind on who to vote for." I've been sitting on the fence and not committing one way or the other.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't become some what political minded or even interested until this election. I have tried in the past to get my brain wrapped around it but it just never happen. I couldn't grasp the whole thing. This time I vowed to get an understanding. So I have been watching every thing I can and getting as much information as possible to make an educated decision. What should be no surprise to anyone..............I still don't get it!

So after watching the debates and loading up on over the counter meds (yes, I combine them) I have made a major decision on how I will be choosing the next President. I will be choosing based on what kind of shoes they wear! In fact because I have decided this is such a good idea, I'm going to be making a lot of decisions based on shoes. Example; If The Hubs is lecturing me about my money spending and look down and see he has those ratty old New Balance shoes on..............I'm not going to listen to him! Now if I look down and see that he has those sexy Romeo's from Georgia Boots that I like so well then I'll take his lecture in to consideration.

So I did a Google search to do a little research on our candidates shoe choices. By God it was there on the Internet for my viewing pleasure. The Internet is amazing isn't it?

John McCain wears Ferragamos which I think are beautiful shoes. I have admired these shoes at Nordstrom when looking for shoes for The Hubs. I'm sure John's wife has a hand in his attire. She has good taste and I'm kind of diggin the fact that John is a bit of a label whore. I say if you have the money to buy it and they are comfortable then do it!

Apparently Barack Obama's shoes aren't worth writing about. I couldn't find much of anything specific on his shoe choice. Apparently he only has 4 pairs and he's not very good about buying new clothes or shoes. That he wears the same ole' same ole until it wears out. That doesn't sound like a man who embraces change to me. Or it could say he's super frugal which could be a good thing right now in these times of Big Bank CEO's and Oil Company Execs living large and the rest of us struggling.

I know your thinking it's the medication combining that has made her come up with such a ridiculous thing. It's not! CNN did a whole story on this. I'm not the only one who thinks about this shit. You can learn a lot about a person and their choice of shoes they wear.

So from now on I'm going to be paying attention their shoes and I'll be basing my decision on that. I can't seem to wrap my brain around all the other issues in order to know what the hell they are talking about. So I'm going with what I know..............Shoes! My new directive is going to apply to the selection of crooks that I have to choose from on a local level also.

Now that I have given you my very insightful political views let me tell you what I'm doing this weekend.

I'm planning on a miraculous recovery from the flu so I can head on down to Barn House for their sale this weekend. I'm so excited! Donna, Michele and I are leaving at 7 am to make the 3 hour trip. Depending on our time we are planning on hitting a few other places that were suggested by Isabel, Lisa and Joy. I have a sneakin hunch that we will spend most of our time at Barn House and not get to go anywhere else. Maybe I'll need to go down to the Portland Antique Show which I heard is a really good show.

I'll be back on Monday with pictures and the details of our road trip!
Have a great weekend

Sorry you are feeling bad. The flu always sucks. I have started getting my election coverage from BBC. I just can't take the American talking heads anymore. Of course, Jon Stewart doesn't count. Truth be told I don't think either one is the right choice. Although, the John McCain of a few years back (before he sold his soul to the right wing base) would have been someone I could have voted for, but now, not so much. I think both have major gaps in either their experience or their platforms. It is going to be a long 3 weeks.
Hope you feel better soon :0)

I am loving your political strategy. Nothing like medications to help with the brain functioning! LOL! I do not follow or understand politics. However, I do know what I stand for morally, and I vote based on that.
Your shoe theory is much more entertaing though!
