Busier Than
A
One Armed Paper Hanger

A few weeks ago my friend Diann Berst e-mailed me and asked if I would be able to bake for an upcoming fund raising event she was helping with.

Now we all know I'm usually Princess Lazy Ass. I don't normally go out and seek volunteer type activities.

HOWEVER........if I'm asked to do something....I never say no.

So of course when Diann asked I said "of course!" "What do you need me to do?"

It's was a simple task........bake a few items for The Snohomish Historical Society Variety Show.

A great cause and a simple task.

For anyone but me!

I always have to go freakin overboard with stuff like this. I can't just do what I'm asked. Oooooh No No not me!

I spent ALL week last week baking! The Hubs was getting so annoyed with me because I kept asking him for help because as you also all know.............

I'm not suppose to be lifting ANYTHING with my right arm.

Wednesday and Thursday I was baking like a mad woman. From the time I got up until I couldn't stand anymore.
Then Friday.........when getting ready to take a load to the drop off destination
I dropped my Chocolate Kahlua Cake. This was all that was salvageable. I also dropped a big plate of cookies that ended up in the garbage.

I called The Hubs half crying

Me: I dropped my cake and cookies. It's all ruined. I'm suppose to be delivering it right now and it's all ruined!

The Hubs was at work, in the middle of important things. He really didn't have time to be listening to me. He said something about being in a meeting at the moment with the Air force, and trying to make the world a safer place. I don't know what he was rambling about, I had a crisis!

The Hubs: You still have that other chocolate cake, the scones, cookies, coffee cake and what else to take today?
Me: That's it!

The Hubs: I'm begging you to stop! Stop baking! Your done!

Deliver that stuff and then stop right now! I'll do whatever you want!
JUST STOP!

Me: OK, but I told them I would bake all weekend if they needed it. I feel bad telling them I can't help anymore.

Well the conversation went on and on and finally I agreed. This was only because The Hubs bribed me.

I went and dropped off all my baked goods that didn't hit the ground.

***I later got a message from Dianne telling me they had plenty of items for the weekend. They had a overwhelming amount of volunteers this year and had plenty of items.
Then headed over to
Pignataro Volkswagen to get my head light put back in my car. As you might have read, it mysteriously disappeared 2 weeks ago.
I was going to need both lights because I had some pavement to tear up this weekend.

I prayed the whole way to the Volkswagen dealership. Would the warranty cover this unfortunate bizzaro part replacement? The part alone was $552. That is not including labor. If I have to pay for this I'm sooooooooooooo not going to Farm Chicks!
First off let me just give a shout out to one of my new BFF's at Pignataro.

Justin in the service department at Pignataro Volkswagen.

Justin jumped through some hoops, smoothed things over, made me laugh and tried to sell me a new car while I was waiting................
Then came the bill
Up close in case you didn't read it clearly
WARRANTY BABY!!!!
You have no idea how much I appreciated you making this happen.
Farm Chicks here I come!

I know you're all wondering what it was that The Hubs bribed me with to get me to stop baking.............
This is totally why I married him.
He got up at 5 am with me on Saturday morning and drove all the way down to The Barn House with me.
Yes, he drove me 200 miles so I could "look around" and visit with Lisa, Isabel and Joy.
The Hubs getting Franklin set up for the day.
Charlie went with us.
I love this man!

We made the 3 hour trek down to the show.

It was fabulous!
A beautiful day too
Isabel and Kate.
It was nice to meet you Kate.

A packed barn of fabulousness and ladies shopping.

I don't know what artist did these farm animal paintings but they were great. I really liked them. Oooh if I had a wall big enough!

Beautiful pink and white roses.

I love all these little bits of vintage sewing items. I could have stood here and looked through everything.

I would like to give a shout out to Kathy.
Thank you so much for approaching me and introducing yourself.
It's so much fun for me to meet who is reading my blah blah.
So I did my visiting, looking, touching, and buying.
We were getting ready to go and I looked over and this poor woman that was stuck in the mud.
In true Princess Lazy Ass style.........I started barking orders to every male that would listen.
The Hubs and all the young men who were helping with parking.

It took them a while but they finally got her out.
Ladies............if you see another fellow shopper in distress.........help her out!
It's a terrible thing to have your shit shopping day ruined by such an event. You all know that if a husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, tow truck or whatever was to be called to help out, this poor woman's shit shopping day would have come to an abrupt end.
Help a sista out!
If you ever have an opportunity to visit The Barn House do so! If they are at a show near you......visit them! Joe and Jermmone are wonderful, talented men and you will totally enjoy it. They also have other show guests who participate that are equally talented and bring beautiful things.
After The Barn House we ventured down to
Beyond The Garden Gate
I love this sale too. I stopped here last fall when attending The Barn House sale.
Always fun beautiful things.

I haven't ever met the people who put this show on but I really do love stopping here. They are right up the road from Barn House.
I bought a little something from
Bird Song
This very cute apron.
I loved the colors in it.

After looking around, touching everything, telling The Hubs how much I loved everything we headed out to head back home.
We started walking towards the truck where Charlie's head was hanging the window. Standing next to our truck was a couple and they seemed to be looking our way. I thought maybe they were looking at something behind us then I thought........oh shit! Did they reach up to pet Charlie and he snapped at them?
Now I'm worried
As we got closer the woman walked toward us and said to The Hubs "Your The Hubs and That's Charlie"
Let me tell you these are my New BFF's
The Fox's!
Love you two!
We had the best time visiting with them.
Thank you for "intruding on my life" and introducing yourselves. It was our pleasure and I hope to chat with you more in the future.
I'm hoping they can make the blog party that I'm co-planning in August.
What a great day!
Now for some local business...........

Big Antique Flea Market in Snohomish this coming weekend.
I'm going to have a discount to offer at one of our favorite stores.
Check back this week!

Glad to hear you got to make the trip with The Hubs and Charlie. At the Variety Show I saw goodies cut into 2" x 2" pieces selling for $2, so your efforts were definitely worthwhile. The show was a hoot!

Awwwww, what a keeper you have there in your Mr. Hubs. When I was a kid, we visited my parents' friends in Snohomish, somewhere near Woodenville. I remember their house being on Wildwood Drive, but that's about it. It was a very long time ago (maybe 30 years or more).
