Midweek Meme
A little something to break up the midweek "what to write about" dilemma.

4 Things you should know about me before you invite me to your house.

1. I’m a picky eater! I don’t like the ends of anything in my food. No pickle ends, no tomato ends, no banana ends, no ends of anything. I also call anything that looks weird in my food “guts” and I usually have a “gut” pile on the side of my plate by the end of my meal. If a family member or The Hubs is with me they all know that the gut pile is up for grabs and will eat whatever is there. If they aren’t present please feel free to reach across and help yourself. I will have an especially large gut pile if we are having some sort of meat. That usually generates a larger then normal gut pile. I have had $100 a plate food that generated a gut pile in the finest restaurants. Don't be offended, it’s not your cooking. It's my weirdness

2. I’m not easily offended. I will however be offended by rudeness. If you invited me please be a hostess. I’m not there to visit with your kids, listen to you yell at your kids, listen to you talk on the phone or watch you text your other friends. That says to me you have more important things to do and visiting with me wasn’t at the top of your list. Why did you invite me?

3. No subject is off limits to me. I’m happy to talk about anything. Sex, menopause, your fabulous life, why Days of Our lives is stupid (I still watch it), latest reality TV viewing, politics, religion, or about your favorite new household cleaning product. I'll even listen polity as you talk about nothing but your kids. I having NO kids and have a hard time relating but I'll gladly listen. I don’t care what we talk about. Just keep in mind………I’m not the brightest crayon in the box so if you are looking for intelligent in depth conversation I’m probably not your girl.

4. I’m self absorbed. If I don’t ask you a lot of questions it’s not because I don’t like you or don’t want to know about you or what you have been up to. It’s because I’m thinking about what I’m going to tell you about myself. I’ll think of things I wish I would have asked you on my ride home. You most likely will get a phone call or e-mail from me later apologizing for being self absorbed and giving you a list of questions I wish I would have asked you.

We Aint F*&&^% Comin Back Here Again
2008
Camping Trip!
As you will soon find out this is a completely different trip than you previously read about on The 2008 Camping Extravaganza we had at the beginning of the month at Pacific Beach.

This last weekend The Hubs and I (aka…The Nuckinfuts) loaded up the mobile estate, got Princess Spoiled Brat and headed over to Lake Wenatchee State Park with WSU Laura and Family(aka…The Fusterclucks). We also met Mother M and The Gotthiershittogethers who are friends of the Fusterclucks. The Gotthiershittogethers are the nicest family you will ever meet and are apparently in direct competition with the Flusterclucks as who can own and display the most WSU items while camping. Why I don’t have pictures of this, I don’t know. You probably would have just thought I photo-shopped the pictures anyway if you saw them. It’s UNBELIEVABLE the loyalty and enthusiasm these people have for their alma mater Washington State University, home of the Cougars.

We were scheduled to leave at noon on Friday. In true Nuckinfuts fashion we were unorganized, not prepared and f------ing nuts for even going on this trip with just coming off 10 days of camping and another 4 days scheduled as soon as we got back from Lake Wenatchee. We were just scared that we might miss out on a good time with the Fusterclucks and The Gotthiershittogethers. Not to mention we made these reservations in February, they were already paid for and we waited too long to cancel. So we were going!

Princess Spoiled Brat showed up on time. We weren’t ready and I listened to the next hour and a half of “when are we leaving?”, “How much longer?” MY MISTAKE NOT BEING READY! So we hurried up, started throwing stuff in, locking up, making sure Franklin was fed and watered and out the door and up the road we went. Whatever we forgot we would live without!

Princess Spoiled Brat and Charlie ready to go!

So on the HWY we were! Charlie going nuts bouncing from window to window, front to back jumping all over who ever got in his way of a window. The Hubs white knuckled and ooooh…..about 3 miles out of the driveway it started……”how long until we get there?”, “How many kids are going to be there?”... “What time will we get there?”... “Will I have time to ride my bike?” “How much more do we have to drive?” This is how it went the rest of the way. Almost 2 hours
We finally get there, Princess Spoiled Brat and Charlie are going crazy. As soon as The Hubs and I pull in to the park we both look at each other and at the same time said “Oh shit!” It’s dirt, dust and more dirt and dust. As far as you can see. Now why we didn’t think of this I have no idea. We know what Eastern Washington is like this time of year. There was NO GRASS as far as the eye could see. DIRT EVERYWHERE. I, Princess Lazy Ass will be the first to admit I hate getting dirty and I hate things being dirty and I don’t keep it a secret. Dust and cobwebs I can over look. Dirt I can’t take! This is my worst nightmare come true. The Hubs is totally annoyed, he just spent days cleaning the mobile estate. Washing, waxing, getting it all spiffy. The inside still smells new!
We make our way through the park to our reserved spot, talking ourselves out of just leaving. It’s going to be fine! We can do this. Princess Spoiled Brat has been looking forward to this for 2 weeks. We can’t leave now. We find our spot. Great ! it’s right across from The Fusterclucks and The Gottheirshittogethers. This is going to be ok.
Oh wait…….The space is at a weird angle, how is the already white knuckled Hubs going to get that 27’ ft (30’ft total) mobile estate in that space????? Why would they put a trailer spot at such a weird angle? Stupid!
Well with many cars and trucks moving out of the way and Mr. Fustercluck helping The Hubs, LIKE A PRO The Hubs got it wedged in that stupidly laid out space and it was perfectly lined up in the space. As Mr. Fustercluck was helping The Hubs get things set up, he says to The Hubs “hey what side is your hook-ups on?” The Hubs “on the right, why?” Mr. Flustercluck “Dude, you don’t have any hook-ups, your in a tent spot!” The Hubs “what the f*$#@!, what do you mean we are in a tent spot?” “We made reservations for full hook ups!” The next thing I hear is my name being screamed through the park. I go running over there (WSU Laura and I were bitching together about the dirt and who the hell thought this was a good idea) to find out that yes, I, me Princess Lazy Ass didn’t read the park map correctly on line and made reservations for us on a no hook up tent site. CRAP! It’s a full weekend there is no place for us to move, not to mention The Hubs is in that space and he’s staying after the huge effort of getting in to it. Well it’s dry camping for us. Oh wait……….we don’t have any water in our tanks because we WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE HOOK UPS! Well lucky us we are right by the fresh water faucet, we will just run our hose from there to our tanks, fill up and it will all be fine. Here is the next thing you heard through out the camp ground………”where is my f*@#ing hose!” “I can’t find my f@*#ing hose!” “The f@#*%ing hose is in the garage!” By now the entire camp ground knows what has happened in space #123. The Nuckinfuts can’t read a reservations map on line, are now dry camping in the dirt, and don’t have a hose to put any water in the mobile estate. Mr. Fustercluck to the rescue! He had an extra hose along with the hose from their trailer to make one long enough to reach water to tank. YEAH! It’s going to be fine right?
Here is the next conversation:

The Hubs… This is in a dirt hole! There is dirt everywhere. The door opens up in to a dirt pile

Me…I know but I don’t know what to do. It’s going to be dirty and look at my feet already. I only walked across the road to their camp and I’m filthy. I can't take it, you know how much I hate my feet being dirty!

The Hubs…. We didn’t spend $$$$$ on this damn trailer to dry camp! Didn’t you read the map and how the park was laid out?

Me…I thought I did, I’m sorry. It will be fine. We will use paper plates, I won’t cook very much, we will only shower if we have to. We can use the public bathrooms, it’s won’t be so bad.

The Hubs………….We have a hyper dog, and a 6 year old with us this time. Are you f***ing nuts?

Me……..Oh yeah, I forgot about them.

The Hubs…….Get me a beer!

By the way……….I’m pretty sure Mrs. Flustercluck had almost the same conversation with Mr. Flustercluck who was the one that made the reservations in the first place for them. Although they had hook ups she still had 3 little boys with her in the middle of a dirt pile. She also has a low tolerance for dirt. Mrs. Gotthiershittogether was way to nice to sit and complain with us. She should have been given an award or something. It was at this point that we all decided that we would just drink the rest of the weekend until we didn’t care if we kids, dogs or the trailers were dirty!

The Hubs getting over his annoyance with dirt and me bitching about it.

If it wasn’t for the company of people this weekend we would have just left. We ended up having an awesome time and can’t wait to go camping with this group again in a non-dirty campground.
Here are some pictures from this weekend

This is the mat out our estate door. In to the dirt. You see.......dirt as far as the eye can see! Every morning after The Hubs would take Charlie out at day break he would come get in bed and say "We are never F***&ing camping here again!" Every night before bed after I had tried with little success to get some of the dirt off Princess Spoiled Brat, myself and Charlie I would fall in to bed and say to The Hubs "We are never F*$#ing camping here again!"

This was the guys explaining to us how they hear their wives talking when we ask them to do something. The Hubs in his deepest demon voice saying "Idiot, get me some wine, before I kill you" "Cook my burger correctly or I will rip your head off and shit down your neck!" We were laughing so hard I thought I was going to throw up. Then all the guys started in. I wish I knew how to record them and post it for you to hear. It was hysterical.

Mr. Nuckinfuts (The Hubs) ordering me to get him 2 beers or he will stab me with his Mickey Mouse saber sored.
Do you see the dirt and beer bottles? I'm wasn't lying
This is a little friend that came with Flustercluck Child #1. He was so funny. He wanted to wear this outfit at night around the campfire and tell scary stories. The other kids wanted nothing to do with it so he did it during the day. He was telling all the kids stories but we thought he looked more like he was in a job interview. The Werwolf Mariners Fan applying for a sales position. Trust me this kid could have gotten whatever sales position he wanted! He was a little schmoozer.

This is Gottheirshittogether child #2 helping Princess Spoiled Brat in the water. Notice the one who is scared dosen't have a life jacket, the brave one does. This is kind of a theme with The Nuckinfuts. We are not the responsible prepared for kid safety adults we hoped to be.

Princess Spoiled Brat loves the animals. She had the best time with the dogs in the water.
Charlie wasn't the Retriever Princess Spoiled Brat had hoped for. He's a Terrier, he sank to the bottom when he fell in the lake off a rock. He had to be rescued. Next time we will have to get him a little doggy life jacket.
She found other dogs to throw buoys for. The kid and the two dogs could have done this all day!

This is Fustercluck Child #1 and his little buddy. I'm sure this was right before they got in trouble for something. I know your all thinking.......There was grass, it's not all dirt. WRONG! This was grass in mud! It was the only grass we could find. So what did we do............We sat and watched the kids and dogs and...................DRANK!
These 3 were so cute. The Gottheirshittogether girls were totally prepared for lake dirt camping. Princess Spoiled Brat and her court were not! These girls shared and helped all weekend. They were a god send. I also loved how they had never met before and with in 2 seconds they were the best of friends.

Mr. Nuckinfuts feeling a bit better about life. Notice the lawn chair, beer and relaxed look on his face.

Princess Spoiled Brat on her bike with her new helmet! Of course The Nuckinfuts didn't bring a helmet for her. The Gottheirshittogethers girls had an extra they let her wear and then keep.
Everyone needs friends like the Gotthiershittogethers when you can't get your shit together!

Mr. Fustercluck is a huge fan of homemade jam and hot biscuits. So on Sunday morning I brought him a pan of hot biscuits and raspberry jam. It's the least I could do after he prevented a double homicide between The Hubs and I right in the middle of that State Park on day 1.

Another nutritional meal prepared by Mrs. Nuckinfuts. Yogurt, Cinnamon rolls, bananas, coffee, and cranberry juice.

This is the kid crew. They had the best time! You could have planted gardens between their toes with all the dirt, they were covered with mosquito bites, tired, hopped up on sugar and crying wanting to stay longer. Oh to be a kid again! This really is the best part of camping

Another successful camping trip. You can't tell from this picture very well but Charlie who is normally white with black and brown spots is dark gray. He is so dirty you can't tell what color he is. Princess Spoiled Brat has a dirty face, dirty feet, and dirty fingernails. I'm taking her home to her Grammy in all her dirt ball glory so Grammy can see how much fun she had.
NOTE**** Neither child or dog complained of neck pain when they woke up

So as I sit amongst a huge pile of really dirty laundry, a dirty dog (who is going to the groomer today to get a bath because I can't get him clean) drinking some tea, itching the 14 misquito bites on the back of my legs and butt (no matter how much OFF you put on the little bastards can still fly up your skort and find some place to bite you) and not wanting to go out and start cleaning the mobile estate it occurs to me that we really did have a great time. The Nuckinfuts won't be doing any dirt camping again but the best part of camping is the people you go with , watching the kids have a good time, laughing so hard your belly and face hurt, and great grub. I really do love our new mobile estate. Even after all of this I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve to leave again this week and head to Oregon for the weekend and be in this same situation next Monday morning. I LOVE IT!
****NOTE**** Although The Nuckinfuts don't follow or stay current on kid saftey regulations and we are not the responsible adults we had hoped when it comes to kids, we do try not to cuss like sailor or truck drivers in front of them.

HOLLY CRAP!!!

Where has the week gone? It's the end of July all ready? Where is my summer going?

The week has flown by and I haven't had a chance to do any postings. A lot of Fakebusy going on here so I really don't have anything exciting to write about. The summer is flying by! I was suppose to meet Friend D at her beach house last week and I didn't have time. This week I had the best of intentions and it didn't happen either. Now..........she's going back home! Friend D if your reading.......I'm so sorry! I feel like a schmuck that I didn't get to see you while you were here this summer.

I got a notice the other day for my 25th class reunion. HOLLY CRAP! Has it been that long? Why wouldn't I have thought about loosing some weight? What am I going to wear? This is the first time I will be attending a class reunion married which seems a bit weird to me. Now I'm asking the questions....Do I take The Hubs? Do I leave him at home? I don't have anything to hide and there isn't anyone I don't want him to meet so it's not that big a deal. Mostly I just don't want him to be bored to death. How does one handle this? I don't want him to think I don't' want him to go or that I'm hiding something. What to do what to do? So in the next couple weeks you will get to hear my ramblings and stresses of going to my class reunion. Won't that be fun!

This weekend we are taking off to Lake Wenatchee State Park to do a little camping. We have never been there before. We've heard it's beautiful. It's suppose to be hot! We are going with WSU Laura and family AKA...The Flustercucks.....so it should be a great time! I'm super excited to go in to Leavenworth. It's a total tourist trap but I don't care it's a cute little place with some cute little shops. I'm all about the shopping while camping. Hell with nature! There are shops that need me to check them out. I was there last summer but it was so dang hot that you really couldn't walk around without dying. This weekend it's suppose to be super hot also but I don't care! I'm going in to town and I'm not taking any complainers with me this time. Hubs you know you are!

We are also taking Princess Spoiled Brat with us camping. She and Laura's kids play so well together. She was begging to go with so I caved and said yes. It will be interesting for The Hubs and I, the no kids people. A 6 year old, a dog that goes wild with kids around, lots of dirt and 90 degree weather in the mobile estate. Doesn't it sound like fun???? We are the NuckinFuts! It's Thursday, we leave tomorrow around noon and I have done NOTHING to get ready. Guess I better think about what needs to be done.

Next week almost as soon as we return from Lake Wenatchee we leave for my family reunion in Canyonville Oregon. It's always fun. A long drive but fun. If you have never been there it's an interesting stop along I-5. There is a state park there for camping but the Seven Feathers Casino has opened a beautiful RV park. I dream of staying here one day!
This is the only time I see some of my relatives so it's fun to catch up with them and sit at the slot machines and visit. I come from a long line of gamblers which is why we hold our reunion at a casino. The Hubs has a brother who lives down there too, so he will be trying to see him while we are there. The Hubs is originally from Grants Pass so it's always fun for him to stop in and see a few of his old high school buddies too. We try to go down a day or two early so he can do a little visiting before my family starts showing up and hogging all his time. It's hard to squeeze in seeing everyone when you only have a few days. We manage to do it.

Well I guess I better get my Princess Lazy Ass out to the mobile estate and start getting it ready to go. Once Princess Spoiled Brat gets here I won't get a thing done!
Have a wonderful weekend! I swear I'll have something more exciting next week for you

Happy Monday

Here at The House of B's not much stays alive. The cat and dog have learned to bark and meow and be super annoying when they are hungry or need water.
We aren't the gardeners we thought we would be when we purchased a house with 8 HUGE flower gardens. Every once in a while something survives the weeds that have taken over and the lack of water. I, Princess Lazy Ass can't seem to remember to turn water on and I have NO DESIRE to go out and weed. Apparently The Hubs is too overwhelmed with the rest of his chores I have assigned to him that he can't get it done either. Sooooooo.......nothing lives except buttercups, various other weeds, and slugs.
This morning I went out and cut a few things that have survived the lack of attention. These Stargazer Lilies and some other small lilies smell WONDEEEEEEEEEERFUL! My house smells so good this morning. I'm not sure what the big purple flowers are or the small pinks but they do look lovely in this huge vase in my living room. They are so beautiful that it makes me start sneezing just looking at the photo. Since we live out where nobody just "stops" by I thought I would post pictures so you could admire them too.

The huge vase in the middle of the living room. It looks and smells gorgeous!

Some of the roses out of the rose garden have survived.

The rose garden is looking pretty pitiful. I'm not sure I'll get anymore flowers. Not to mention Charlie barked at the deer last night long enough they finally got annoyed with him and left. They don't' seem to be scared of much. I'm sure they came back for a late night snack in that garden. They ate all the leaves off my new Honey Crisp Apple tree. Guess it's going to be $2.69 a pound for me again this year. Well probably more like $3.69 a pound with the gas price increases and the increases on top of that because they (I don't know who they are but you get it) can blame it on something else and still get more out of us.

I'm off to make myself an allergy medication cocktail this morning so I can enjoy the flowers and do something perhaps productive, fabulous, or glamorous today like.....................clean the bathrooms.

Have a wonderful Monday!

It's A Thriftorama!

WOW! I have been busy!!! I have discovered so many fantastic finds over the last couple months that it was starting to get out of hand in the garage and extra bedrooms. In addition to this, over the past few weeks my parents have been cleaning too. They decided to remodel their entire house after 35 years. I'm so excited for them but at the same time they have been cleaning and unloading on me and my brother. Unfortunately I didn't get my mothers sentimental genetic make up. I hauled it all home and now need to find it new homes. So between my parents cleaning and my obsessive junking I am buried in stuff! The Hubs wants his garage back and I can't get to the ironing board in the extra bedroom.
Since getting home from Pacific Beach I have been working on liquidating some of my fantastic finds. This week I have been listing stuff on EBay but it hasn't even put a dent in my "need to sell" pile.
Sooooooooooooooo with the hopes of helping me get a little a head of my "need to sell" pile, in this posting I'm sharing with all my bloggin buddies the fantastic finds before they head to the antique dealers, EBay or Craigslist.

From my mothers............

Vintage goose dishes. I have two serving bowls, 1 dinner plate and 8 salad plates. These were in boxes of stuff from my first apartment that I had forgotten all about. I had the whole country thing goin on! It was so dang cute! $30

This is a complete set of Fitz and Floyd Betty Quacker. 15 pieces. Some of the pieces are rare. I had to special order them when I was collecting them back in the 80's. When I was collecting this stuff I was making $3.85 an hour ( part time) at JCPenny and lived in a $125 a month apartment. I couldn't afford to eat or pay my electric bill but DAMN my little kitchen was cute!

Included in the set is a cookie jar, cracker tray, scrubber pad holder, recipe holder, paper towel holder, covered butter dish, covered cheese dish, napkin holder, spoon rest, utensil holder, cookbook ends, and salt and peppers. I also have an extra cookie jar bottom and all the pieces to her broken little head. The book ends and salt and peppers are not in excellent mint condition. One of the bookends and one of the salt and pepper have been glued.
I'm not even sure where to start on the pricing for this. I saw the cookie jar 1 time on eBay and it went for $75. I have never seen any of the other pieces. If your interested or have any information on suggested value PLEASE contact me.

This is still the cutest little kitchen set. I just love it.

Now for some of my recent fantastic finds.......................

Vintage cookie jar. Could be California Pottery but I'm not that familiar with the markings. Excellent condition. Has a tiny tiny little chip in the corner of one of the cookies. This cookie jar is a light beige color. I have seen them several times in white or green but not this light beige.
Markings on the bottom of cookie jar. $35

Super cute! Size 10 Ralph Lauren pink and white polk a dot cotton capri, size 6 Lilly Pulitzer pink and green cotton capris and size 8 Ralph Lauren pink paisley cotton pants. Each $15 or buy all 3 pieces for $40 all 3 of these are in excellent like new condition.

OH MY GOD! This is in excellent condition. Vintage straw handbag, Bakelite handles, top closure, and accents. Not one piece of broken straw, cracked or discolored Bakelite. $40Inside is clean and in great condition. No tags or markings

Vintage Pyrex set. Excellent condition. Very little fading of color, no chips or cracks in any of the pieces including lids to refrigerator dishes. $30 Yellow and shades of green

Retro wall hangings. These are made of a plastic material. They look like they might be vintage Home Interior items. I thought they would be cute painted all one color. $20
They measure 21" long 7" wide

Super cute needle point pictures. $25 for both 8" x 11" from edge to edge of frame.

Victorian figures $25 for both

Small lamp with new pearl smocked shade. $30 Lamp base is 9"tall with shade 15" tall.

This is Franklin and his way of letting me know he's ready for some dinner! Sitting in front of the computer staring is always a good indicator.

This is in MINT condition. Size medium, measures 36" bust, in off white with browns, bronze, copper, and gold beading. There are no holes, snags, missing beads or missing buttons.
$60
Back of sweater
Label on the inside of neck

Size 6 medium Justin women's cowboy boots. In excellent like new condition. There are barley any marks on the soles.
Size 7 1/2 Roper black ostrich boots. These are in excellent condition, little to no wear on the soles. There is one tiny little scuff on the right toe.
Tea and coffee set. It needs to be polished. I haven't gotten that far yet.

This is so fun! I'm sorry my pictures don't do it justice. It's a really pretty olive green with a dark egg plant almost black accents. The only markings on the back are USA 2019

This is just a few of the items. Like I said between my parents and my obsession I'm buried in fantastic finds!
Well I'm off to my parents again today to get more boxes. It will be fun to see what's in my surprise boxes.
This is the first time I have set up paypal as a link on the price. If you have any trouble or questions on items please e-mail me. TimiWeathers@hotmail.com
Shipping is included in the prices.
Have a great day!

THIS LADY IS NUTS!

I was clicking around reading blogs and as you know one thing leads to another and I ended up on Old Red Barn Co. SHE IS NUTS!!! She is having a quilt give away. It's the most beautiful quilt you have ever seen in your life. I think she's nuts to give it away. I would totally keep it for myself, display it proudly and let people admire it, ooh and awwww over it when they came to visit. Then proudly say "yeah, I made it!" Maybe statements like that is why my selfish self absorbed non creative self isn't the one creating and giving away quilts???? Well if I win...............I will jump for joy, tell the world about my beautiful new quilt , give the credit to who deserves it and THEN when the dust settles ............I'm totally going to start telling guests who admire it I made it! It's GORGEOUS!

She's nuts but let's all be helpful bloggers and see if we can't take it off her hands.
Good luck!

THANK YOU!

I have been given

My good friend WSU Laura has given me an award.

I'm so touched and honored.
Thank you!

I would like to turn this award right back around and give it to WSU Laura again. YOU MAKE MY DAY! For getting me started and hooked on blogging, for always commenting on my blog and making me feel good about it, for always smiling and agreeing with me when I'm in one of my head spinning rants. No matter how stupid the rant. Most of all for being my Polly Anna!

I would also like to give this award to a few of my blogging buddies who have helped me in becoming addicted to blogging. You make me check in on your blogs everyday to see what's
going on, get a laugh, or steal a fantastic decorating idea. You have also assisted me in getting NOTHING done on several different occasions. If your blogs weren't good, I would have to be cleaning, weeding, or maybe even doing windows.
I hate doing all of these things.
Thank you!

Annie's For always posting lovely pictures of her antique store that inspire me. For getting the courage to start blogging (your never to old to learn something new) so that she could share her talented eye for style with the rest of the world. Also for just being an all around great person. It has been my pleasure and honor getting to know you over the last couple years.

Tinkers Piggies Laurie Ann for always commenting on my blog, participating in my silly little contests, and being the luckiest thrifty shopper ever!

Swedish Flicka My Delightful Friend Donna for signing up for that ass kickin class and having the courage to stick with it and blog about it! YOU ROCK! For being my co-pilot in many Fact and Artifact Finding Missions, For every once in a while having an opinion and making me laugh with that voiced opinion. After all the years of listening to me tell you over and over my dreams, crazy ideas, and aspirations you finally said to me one day "The only difference between you and them is the execution" Thank you, you inspired me to get off my duff!

A Thing For Roses Lisa for posting all her fabulous finds. Being the first New BFF I ever met in person that reads my blog. You inspire me! It has been so much fun getting to know you.
The Nesting Place You have the best decorating ideas! Since I stumbled on to your blog I have had to check back as often as I can to see what your doing. Love your ideas!

Here are a few of my non blogger friends I would like to give a little shout out to
I know you read often and you send comments through e-mail and phone calls.
YOU MAKE MY DAY

Friend M and her husband (yeah I know you read too Leonard) We have been friends since 4th grade, You two are truly the nicest couple I have ever met. You make me laugh, and have been the best of friends to me even when my head wasn't screwed on straight.

Friend S Even with 5 boys she still manges to read and comment on my blog. Another friend since 4th grade, she truly is someone who inspires me to try new things and makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. I have also gotten to know her 5 sisters very well and they always make me feel like I'm part of the crazy family! All you B girls reading...........You make my day!

My New Farm Chicks BFF Kal in Yakima I'm tickled every time you e-mail me with a comment. We met at the Farms Chicks when I asked you to admire my new shopping cart that I had just gotten from A Thing For Roses. You politely did EVERY TIME I saw you that day! Thank you! It's been fun getting to know you.

I would have liked to give this award to every blog I read, and some I just stumble on. There just isn't enough time (and my fingers would get sore from typing) to mention everyone. The Hubs has left me a list today of things he would like done. I guess that means he would like me to actually do something today. ???? Nice try HUBS! I'm trying to still catch up after 10 days of being out of touch. I can't believe I missed A Nesting Place Mac and Cheese contest! I also missed what appears to have been a fantastic antique show in Portland. Dang!

Let someone know they make your day! They will be delighted to hear it.

Have a wonderful day!

HOLY SMOKES
DID WE HAD FUN!
10 Days at Pacific Beach

I can't even begin to write about how much fun we had. I'm not that creative or skilled. The weather was beautiful, there was much laughter, lots of visiting, and we ate like Kings and Queens. I could have stayed another week. I love the beach! I was dreaming up ways I could make it possible to live at the beach full time on the way home yesterday. Needless to say The Hubs wouldn't stop at the casino or mini mart to by lotto tickets to set my plans in motion.

Here are a few pictures of our trip. Wish I would have gotten more but I'm the woman who is always looking for her camera or wishing she had brought a camera and honestly when I do have my camera the pictures just aren't that good. I'm just not good about taking pictures. Reason #85 why it's probably a good thing I don't have kids..........no pictures of their life would be taken.

There were a couple pictures I am still kicking myself for not getting. Our last night at the beach The Hubs, Princess Spoiled Brat, The Mother and I went down to the beach at sunset to watch the sun go down in all it's beauty. We were also hoping that The Hubs would be able to finally get that kite up in the air that he had bought in Ocean Shores. He were on day 3 of being a fancy kite owner and he still hadn't found the perfect spot to fly it. What a picture moment I missed that night! Me again with no camera. The Mother and I were both upset that neither of us had thought about grabbing a camera before we headed out.
There on the beach in a beautiful sunset was The Hubs and Princess Spoiled Brat flying a kite together. It really was a perfect picture and it brings a tear to my eye to think about it. It was a beautiful, touching, and just summed up what a great time we had. Again I apologize for being the woman who NEVER has her damn camera ready!
Pictures I did manage to get
The mobile estate loaded and ready to go

We looked like the Beverly Hillbilly's going to town.

The truck was loaded with a large gas grill, propane tanks, coolers, and wrought iron furniture. Yes, I took my two vintage wrought iron chairs and glass top end table. Ended up being the one of the best decisions ever!

Charlie ready to go! He is the best travelin dog. He loves to go to the beach. Well actually he just loves to go anywhere.

This is some of the view from the RV Park and some of the camp sites at Pacific Beach Resort. We were so excited to be right up against the fence with a great view. WRONG! Great view, the wind blew threw our camp every day so hard you couldn't really be outside. This isn't the ideal spot, beautiful but not ideal.

This was the mobile estate all set up with B flag flying, lights on the awning, and monogrammed B chairs with our little portable propane camp fire. Which really was nice in the evenings. We also used it to cook fijitas on one night and it worked like a dream. Pictures???? uhmmmmm no!

The Hubs and Charlie having a beer and posing for pictures.

WSU Laura and Family ended up having the coolest most popular campsite in the place! Everyday they got more and more kids that showed up for bike riding and smores!

More pictures of the kids having fun roasting marshmallows over the COOLEST handmade WSU fire pit you have ever seen. I wish my pictures were better for you. It really is a work of art.

This was the mid-week posse of kids. By Friday the posse was much bigger. I love how kids don't care who they hang out with. As long as you have a bike and good snacks your part of the group!

This was one of our pancake morning feeds. This group is a little smaller then usual. Most of the other kids had inhaled breakfast and left on bikes already.

Oh Food Network had nothing on us! We ate very well all week. The Mother brought fresh strawberries with her from the Skagit Valley. In my opinion you don't find better berries then Sakuma Brother berries. We had shortcake one night, then next morning we had buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries and blueberries on them. Again.........where's the pictures??????

This was our beer can chicken night. These were lovely! They turned out great. We used two different cooking devices and the one on the right, the little inexpensive one that just holds a can and has some supports worked the best. The big fancy expensive one with the veggie tray attached to it..........took a long time to cook, not to mention if you put veggies in there like suggested.....they would be burned up by the time your chicken was done.

Pacific Beach Resort has a little 4 lane bowling alley. The kids and adults played many games. I think WSU Laura's #2 son will be one to watch for the next bowling champion. Here really is a great bowler.

How many people does it take to try and figure out how to keep score manually? I'm not sure they ever did figure it out. We really are spoiled by the latest and greatest in technology.

Not only did The Hubs get beat by a 7 year old, the same said 7 year old showed him how to keep score. The Hubs got a schoolin! He's now all fired up to the Wii so he can practice.

The Mother showing off her bowling skills. Many years ago she was on a bowling league where she proclaimed to have won trophies. I'm not sure those skills where enough to beat Son #2

Son #2 and Princess Spoiled Brat playing in the water

The Hubs and Charlie playing in the water. Yes, that is a really long leash he has for Charlie. 90 feet to be exact. When not on a leash Charlie takes off and forgets to come back. He escaped one one day out of the trailer by pushing open the screen door. He took off so fast that he was the talk of the camp ground. The Hubs and I had people stopping by all afternoon asking "did you find your dog?" and "Wow, that's one fast dog!" He stays on a leash!

***Side note**** I did find Charlie after he escaped, he was on the top fort of the play ground structure with some poor kid pinned to the floor licking him to death. How he got up there I'll never know! I guess when there are kids to be licked to death nothing will get in a dogs way!

The kids playing some more

Princess Spoiled Brat showing me that the water really wasn't very cold. She's 6 and doesn't know what the hell she's talking about! It was freezing cold!

Princess Spoiled Brat waiting for her ice cream at the Falcons Nest. This really was the best little spot in Pacific Beach. The guys and woman who run this are truly the poster children for good customer service. The food and ice cream were awesome too!

The Mother waiting for ice cream too

A full afternoon at the beach playing. I walked in to the bedroom and found Princess Spoiled Brat and Charlie out! Did I mention I got to sleep in a bed of sand that night?

Some other places worth mentioning that we found in our adventures to Pacific Beach;

59 Main.........very cute little beach gift shop and cafe. The people were super nice and let WSU Laura and I take over the TV at 4 to watch Oprah one day. I'm sorry they didn't have a website or any links so I could show you how cute this shop was. Stop in if your in the neighborhood. You won't be disappointed.

Going Coastal in Ocean Shores........Fun little store. Lots of fun retro items. They also have the best selection of beach cruiser bikes. Stop in this little shop, you will have a great time. The owners are super nice and fun to visit with.

WSU Laura's mother Mother S makes some of the most beautiful jewelery. She made me this gorgeous necklace and bracelet while we were at the beach. It has all the beach colors in it. I LOVE IT!

This was a great trip! We learned a lot about long term camping, we got camping tips from some of the pros at the camp ground, we met some wonderful new people, we came home sun burned and faces peeling, 5 lbs heavier, found that we could live without TV and the Internet and have stacks and stacks of dirty laundry.

Now that I have my Internet and TV addiction back in full swing and am back to feeling guilty that I have once again wasted an ENTIRE day blogging I'm off to clean out the mobile estate and work on my laundry piles that reach the ceiling. I'm hoping to get it all done before The Hubs gets home and wonders what in the hell DIDN'T happen here today.

*****BLOG UP DATE*******

I just discovered a huge problem here at The House of B's!

I have a weeks worth of Blogs, Days of Our Lives , Food Network Star and Design Star to catch up on. On top of all this stress I just walked out and got the mail that was delivered today after being held for 10 days. GOOD GRIEF! Magazines and catalogs that need to be looked through and read! The stress is mounting........never mind the sand everywhere, the over grown lawn, the dead plants, and the laundry to the ceiling!

Can you spot the potential hazard that could occur here if I had not been paying attention???

Yeah! That's right! I could have started my magazine reading, catalog shopping, mail going through, catching up on TV with only a half a bag of Ruffles and 1 Diet Coke left! Well, and Charlie taking over my new lounge chair is a problem too. That's easy he'll share with me if I share a chip or two with him! Thank god I caught this hazard before it even got started! The Hubs is picking up Diet Coke as we speak!

That was close!
